Wider Qualifications

The school provides a range of learning experiences to help develop young people

ASDAN

ASDAN provides programmes and qualifications for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our courses have been developed for learners with a wide range of learning needs and abilities and provide meaningful outcomes through a person-centred approach that prepares learners for adult life.

DofE

Our DofE programme involves pupils helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning and training.

Any young person can do their DofE – regardless of ability, gender, background or location. Achieving an award isn’t a competition or about being first. It’s all about setting personal challenges and pushing personal boundaries.

Through a DofE programme young people have fun, make friends, improve their self-esteem and build confidence. They gain essential skills and attributes for work and life such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication and drive. Employers recognise the work-ready skills Award holders bring to their business.

JOHN MUIR

The John Muir Award encourages people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. The Trust’s John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. It is inclusive, accessible and non-competitive, though should challenge each participant.  The award encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment through a structured yet adaptable scheme, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration.
